The NYPD is working on cracking the fatal shooting case of Lionel "Chinx" Pickens. The Queens rapper was shot and killed May 17, 2015, after leaving a closed hookah lounge early that morning. Fox 5 News reports that lead detective Lt. Louron Hall and Lt. Richard Rudolph believe Chinx was targeted, adding that they believe he wasn't involved with any serious drugs.

Lt. Richard Rudolph stated to Fox 5 News “I wouldn’t call it a setup, but was he a target? Yes.”

Police believe the shooting was not a drive-by, rather an assassination. According to reports, they are seeking the help from rap industry for any leads.

Janelli Caceres, the widow of the late rapper, is pleading to anyone with information to come forward to get justice for the sake of their children.
