50 Cent Asks Judge to Reduce Lawsuit Judgment

50 Cent‘s finances came under intense scrutiny last year, mostly for his summer bankruptcy filing. The rapper and mogul made efforts to play it off as a bit of strategic maneuvering; his latest request might be more of the same.

According to TMZ, 50 has requested that the judge reduce a lawsuit decision against him from $7 million to $1.6 million, feeling that the original figure was excessive. The case in question involves Lastonia Leviston, the woman who alleges 50 facilitated the distribution of a sex tape involving her. Leviston is the mother of Rick Ross’ child, and the tape surfaced when the two rappers were embroiled in a dispute.

Since the judgment came down, 50 has said publicly that he doesn’t plan on paying the $7 million any time soon. “Oh I’m gonna owe that,” he cracked to an Instagram commenter who asked about the sum.

He has also been attempting to sell his Connecticut home. 50 purchased the 21-bedroom, 25-bathroom mansion from Mike Tyson in 2003 for $4 million; despite an estimated $10 million in renovations, the house has failed to sell despite being on the market since 2007. The asking price has reportedly dropped to $8.5 million.

In addition to releasing a new project, The Kanan Tape, Fif is said to be developing a sitcom for Fox. Tentatively called My Friend 50, the show will follow “an unstable twentysomething who believes that joining 50 Cent’s entourage is the answer to all her problems,” with the rapper appearing in a recurring role.
